Memorial Day Weekend...

Saturday we all went to Alabama to see our first Drive-in movie and I must say it was so wonderful! We all got a bunch of blankets and sat in front of the car and watched the movie under the stars.

Saturday Evening at the Drive-in.

Look!

Monday was Mary Ellen's 16th birthday, so we all went out to lunch and then I gave her the cake I made. It was delicious except for the fact that it was almost 97 degrees out and the icing melted a little. Then that evening we had a Memorial Day/Birthday cookout with friends and family.

I read just today through the Fox News that our brother in Christ, Steven Curtis Chapman has lost a daughter in a tragic accident. Please take a moment and pray for the Chapman family.

The Best of Boyhood

Last night was spent babysitting for a four year old boy named Phillip. I can't begin to tell you how active he is! It was a evening filled with dinner, a walk around the block, playing baseball in the back yard, watching him ride his bike and scooter around the drive-way, dribbling the basketball, and much, much more. Boys are indeed full of adventure and curiosity!

Going for a stroll with wagon in hand!

Yipppee!!! Swinging off the barn, or rather "castle" as he called it!

Highlights From Our Time At The 2008 GHEA

So, this year at GHEA mom and I had a wonderful time meeting up with old friends as well as meeting new ones. I was able to find a couple of things in the used book sale that I'm already enjoying; Douglas Wilson’s book Standing On The Promises, A Handbook of Biblical Childrearing. I’m really looking forward to begin reading and studying this one. I also came upon a video of a message that Dr. S.M. Davis preached titled, God’s Plan for Finding a Mate. Afterwards, mom and I headed over to the Vision Forum table and found many wonderful goodies! We met a couple of very nice men that were working at the table and they were very helpful in answering our questions. I purchased Family Driven Faith by Dr. Voddie Baucham, Raising Maidens of Virtue by Mrs. Stacy McDonald, and the Back to Genesis CD set. One of the things that I purchased that day will have to be shipped since they didn’t have any copies in stock. The new dvd, What is Biblical Femininity? You can check it out if you click on the title!
