I've been tagged!

Mrs. Rhonda Horton from The Path to Simplicity has tagged me! I meant to post this yesterday and for some reason it wouldn't post! Read below if you dont' know exactly what it means to be tagged. Here goes...

The rules of the game: Each player answers the questions themselves. At the end of the post the player tags 4 people and posts their names, and goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment letting them know that they've been tagged asking them to read your blog. Let the person who tagged you know when you've posted your answers."

10 years ago~ I turned 10 this month and as usual during the summer my mom and I would go to Hilton Head Island, SC to visit my aunt Janice and Uncle Jimmy. Usually most of the aunts, uncles, and cousins would all meet up there for a week or so. It was always a special time for our family as we went to the beach during the day and came home and played games or just sat and caught up with everyone. At night we would play game after game of Charades, which my cousins and I loved to play! So much has changed since I was ten and I can hardly remember what I was interested in but mostly my memories of that age were of the times spent with family.

5 things on my list today~ Having devotion/quiet time, 2. Cleaning out the fridge (which is WAY over due), 3. Wash bed sheets/comforter and finish dusting furniture,
4. Working on getting a meal plan for next week and start a grocery list of things we might need, 5. Iron clothes for mom and finish unpacking her things from her recent trip.

Snacks I enjoy~ apples with peanut butter, animal crackers, goldfish crackers, cheese, and really yummy fruit smoothies!

Things I would do if I were a millionaire~ First off I would set aside a portion of the money that I would give to tithe and also give to certain charities that have been on my heart. Then I would let my mom build her dream house and have it paid off, then I’d like to go to Europe with my family for about a month and just travel all over. Another thing would be to buy lots and lots of fabric for sewing projects! As for the rest of the money I would put it into the bank until I needed to use it. Since I’m not married and have no children I would like to be able to use it in helping build a house or just to be able to have it for my future family if that is the Lord’s will for my life.

Places I have lived~ Miami, FL; Fitzgerald, GA; Irwinville, GA; Conyers, GA; Villa Rice, GA; Bremen, GA; Waco, GA. (I think it’s safe to say we’ve moved a few times throughout my life.)

Okay, now it's your turn...I'm tagging whoever reads this!

The Joy of a Good Book

It's Wednesday, and so far this week has been such a wonderful time. Of course, cleaning, making meals, folding laundry, and cutting grass are things that I do every week. However, I've been very refreshed lately in the books that I'm reading and the audio Cd's that I'm spending time listening to. I know that I have a bit more free time than most stay at home daughters; seeing as how I don't have any siblings and we don't live on a farm. But it's amazing how it seems that from the time I wake up (6:30 a.m.) until the time I go to bed(trying to make sure I'm asleep by 10:00 p.m. but sometimes that doesn't happen), that I am constantly working on something or cleaning up a mess, helping iron a shirt, or whatever task that needs getting done. But as I am making more time here and there to just read books, I'm finding that it's time very well spent. Even if you just sit down to read one chapter at a time you will feel so much better and refreshed! Of course, that very much depends on the type of books that you fill your mind with. For myself, I've really become interested in reading biographies and hope to start reading a biography of each president. I'm sort of compiling a list of books that I hope to read by the end of the year; I'll post a rough draft of it soon! I was wondering though do any of you have books that you recommend reading or books that have inspired you in your Christian walk? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Well, until next time!

What I love about our yard in the summer.

Big shady trees that have been around forever.

Wild roses that smell heavenly.

Hydrangea bushes all around.

Watching creation take place every day .

Being in the yard makes me feel closer to the Lord.
